Project Requirements:
Research Questions:
- Overview summary of the figure placing them within the Renaissance time period and stating the importance/significance of their contribution (i.e. why are they important?)
- Brief biographical sketch (including dates, country & city that they lived in, notable life events, etc.)
- Explanation of how they exemplify the era and spirit of the Renaissance period. Tell us how their work/achievements are a reflection of the Renaissance style.
Power Point Presentation:
You must support your research with a PowerPoint presentation that addresses your research questions and uses carefully selected visuals (at least two examples of paintings, sketches, diagrams, sculpture, book, etc.) that illustrate, support, and extend your analysis. For example, “This painting expresses the Renaissance period and worldview because it …” or “It is a great example of the artist’s new technique of ….”

Edible Artwork:
While this is probably the most fun step in the entire project, it is important to know that simply re-creating the art alone will not give you, nor the class, a solid understand of your artist and their influence during the Renaissance. It important that all steps in this process are done, and done well. With your edible art, you must have 60% of the project edible. You can use any form of food and can use other items to enhance your art design. Think outside of the box. Below are a few ideas to get you thinking. One was made using butter and icing, one is a cake, the other is made out of veggies.
